The master plan for the Methodist Hospital for Surgery in Addison Texas created an integrated physician – hospital campus through the modeling of the ultimate build-out of the development. While the future needs will modify the proposed layout, the intent was to create a strategy for growth. The master plan recognizes that expansion of the hospital, medical office buildings, and parking will occur in multiple phases. The Hospital was placed to optimize the site for both initial and long term growth. The development strategy outlined public/staff vehicular circulations, zoning of anticipated medical services, as well as critical support areas. Each phase was developed to accommodate specific types of growth and while not compromising the long term vision. A new site selected by the developer and operator changed the course of the project. The proposed site was master planned for a 250 bed hospital and 300,000 sf of medical office buildings (with structured parking). Healthcare Architect: BOKA Powell
