German automaker Mercedes-Benz is expanding its financial services office in North Texas with a new building.
Mercedes-Benz Financial Services USA LLC will move to a 200,000-square-foot office building in 2019 in North Fort Worth’s AllianceTexas development.
Mercedes-Benz Financial has been in a smaller space at AllianceTexas since 2007. Almost 900 direct and indirect jobs would be retained in Forth Worth as a result of the new operations center.
“This project and a new, state-of-the-art operations center, will enable us to reshape the way we work so that our environment matches the activities we do every day,” Peter Zieringer, president and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Financial Services, said in a statement. “The location for our new business operations center, less than one mile north of our current office, offers amenities, such as a scenic lake and walking trail, not feasible in our current location.”
Dallas-Fort Worth area is home to at least half a dozen large auto-financing firms including Capital One Auto Finance in Plano, GM Financial and Santander Consumer Finance in Forth Worth as well as Exeter Finance in Las Colinas.
Mercedes-Benz Financial provides financial services and lending to auto buyers and dealers. It’s a division of Daimler Financial Services Group, headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany.
The company now is in a 164,000-square-foot office building at 13650 Heritage Parkway near Interstate 35W.
AllianceTexas developer Hillwood will develop the new office building for the financial firm.
“Hillwood and Mercedes-Benz Financial Services have been partners for more than a decade, and we’re proud that the company will continue to call AllianceTexas home,” Mike Berry, president of Hillwood, said in a statement. “This new building will be tailored to meet the growing needs of Mercedes-Benz Financial Services employees, as well as help the company recruit top talent, by maintaining access to the convenience, connectivity and variety of amenities that AllianceTexas has to offer. ”
Dallas-based architect BOKA Powell will design the new building. Commercial real estate firm JLL will provide development services. Cushman & Wakefield negotiated the new lease.
Construction on the project will start in early 2018.
