A focus on sustainability and efficiency shaped the design of this new commercial office tower at The Domain, a mixed-use retail, residential and commercial office development in northwest Austin. This property offers unique amenities, including a public gym on the ground floor with showers, a elevated patio above the lobby with adjoining conference rooms and a business center, as well as a rooftop terrace on the 11th floor with views of downtown. The lobby opens onto outdoor creative collaboration spaces and a coffee kiosk. The project has achieved LEED® Silver Certification.
Studio Blue Square, BOKA Powell’s in-house graphics studio, completed all computer-generated architectural renderings, as well as project identity and branding graphics for Domain Tower. Studio Blue Square also developed an interactive virtual reality experience, allowing the client and others to experience the building before construction began. Using the Unity development platform in conjunction with the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset, the client was able to step into the building throughout the design process, giving them unprecedented understanding and control throughout the development of the design. VR has also provided an effective, intuitive method for presenting the project to their prospective tenants.
