Bryan, Texas/130,000 square feet/Medical Building
BOKA Powell assisted Texas A&M and Blinn College in strategic planning the multi-tenant, education and medically-oriented facility on the Texas A&M Health Science Center Campus in Bryan, Texas. The project involves creating utilization models for Blinn College to project future growth and program development, facility design development, as well as programming and space planning for each of the tenants that form a diverse cross-section of medical organizations. The facility will include both clinical and academic components, including the Texas Brain and Spine Institute, the Texas A&M Family Medicine Residency Program and Behavioral Medicine Program, and the Blinn College Allied Health Programs. Through programming and planning, BOKA Powell married the future strategic plan for growth and collaboration by designing a facility that allows for segregation of patient populations as well as a separate identity for each of the clinical programs, relocation and growth of six existing programs, addition of two new programs, opportunities for the coordination of all programs within a single facility as well as a new, more authentic-feeling clinical learning environment for students via a simulated hospital.
