University House

Tempe, Arizona

University House Communities opened the second phase of University House, a private luxury student housing development on the Arizona State University campus, in the fall of 2015. BOKA Powell designed the tower to complement an existing adjacent first phase. The project includes 242 beds with two, three, and four bedroom options.

University House represents a new trend in luxury student housing, with top-of-the-line features including nine-foot exposed concrete ceilings, porcelain tile bathrooms, and full-sized washers and dryers. Apartments range from 716 to 1,289 square feet, with modern, fully equipped kitchens. Each unit has floor-to-ceiling windows that provide panoramic views of the Sun Devil Stadium across the street. Units are available to students for nine and 12-month leases, and are move-in ready with platform beds, kitchen and living room furniture.

BOKA Powell partnered with Sixthriver Architects on the building’s interiors, emphasizing bold geometric motifs and merging the modern character of the project’s architecture with a refined, yet youthful interior.
