Dallas, Texas
The Pearl Street Garage in Dallas, Texas, has approximately 320,000 square feet with 846 spaces on 14 floors. The major obstacle in designing this cast-in-place, concrete structure parking garage in the center of downtown was the accommodation of the occupants of a high-rise building on a limited amount of space.
The design integrates a tight ramping system through the parking levels to facilitate easier driving on such a tall structure. The structure frame and exterior are a cast-in-place concrete. Vertical transportation (via elevators) has been located on the exterior as an architectural design feature because the exterior meets the frontage on three sides.
