The Stonebreaker Hotel - Markham Hill

Fayetteville, Arkansas

Perched gracefully atop Fayetteville’s historic Markham Hill, The Stonebreaker Hotel stands as a masterclass in contextual architecture and thoughtful placemaking. BOKA Powell’s architecture and interior design teams worked carefully to balance the hill's century-old heritage with modern hospitality scale.

Rather than letting the new development overwhelm the landscape, the clean, contemporary geometry of the newly built 78-room boutique hotel curves naturally along the ridge line, stepping back to let the property's historic Victorian house and the legacy Pratt Place Barn remain the focal points. Vast expanses of glass frame striking panoramic views of the Ozark canopy, creating a deeply localized retreat that seamlessly connects visitors to nature, walking trails, and the nearby University of Arkansas campus.
